Every summer, Avalon steals a little more of my heart. Our family mornings often start with a stop at Kohler’s Bakery for their famous cream donuts (a must if you’ve never tried them!) before I head back to photograph families along Avalon’s breathtaking shoreline that evening. There’s just something magical about beginning the day with sweet treats and ending it with a golden-hour sunset over the ocean.

Avalon’s wide beaches, soft dunes, and peaceful vibe make it one of the most photogenic spots on the Jersey Shore. Whether we’re walking along the one of my personal favorite beach streets, exploring the dunes near the jetty, or capturing the glow at sunset, Avalon offers a variety of beautiful backdrops for your family session.
When to Schedule Your Session?
Summer evenings in Avalon are incredible for photography the light is soft, the breeze is gentle, and the ocean sparkles. I recommend booking your session several weeks in advance, especially for prime sunset times between June and August. I always keep a close eye on the weather and tide charts to make sure we have the best conditions.
What to Expect?
Sessions are relaxed and playful. Kids can run in the sand, splash their toes in the waves, and snuggle in for a few classic portraits. I’ll guide you through natural poses and capture those candid moments that feel like vacation memories, not stiff family photos.
